Sumba is an exceptionally beautiful island, but also one of the poorest in the Indonesian archipelago. Located between Bali and West Timor, it’s also one of the closest Indonesian islands to Australia with Darwin being less than 1000km away. It’s about 11,000sqkm (smaller than Northland) and has a population of about 600,000.

Who We Are & What We Do
The concept behind Tours for Life is simple - book any tour to any part of the world with us and we will donate approximately 1/3 of our commission to life saving projects in the poor island of Sumba, Indonesia. (See the graph below for details.) Currently we have over 30 tour companies we are working with, who offer several thousand tours!
Tours for Life was born out of a solution to a problem – we were personally helping Sumba in small ways but the need was just so great - how could we help more?

Some Examples :
If a couple books a tour valued at $500 each ($1000 total) we'll contribute $50 to the current project.
If a person travelling alone books a tour valued at $9000 we'll send $300 to the project.
If a group of 6 friends book a $5000 tour each (total $30000) we'll be making great headway with the current project with $1000 being contributed to help!
